On September 10, 2012, MSE Professor and Undergraduate Chair, David Johnson, proudly accepted the Purdue Minority Engineering Program & "Wings to Succeed" award. This award, which was based on graduation statistics from Fall 2011 through Summer 2012, was presented to Materials Engineering for the highest percent of under-represented minorities (15%), more than double any of Purdue's other engineering schools.
