We are especially conscious of our obligation to collaborate with industry, both by providing it with well-trained engineers through our educational programs, and by providing direct access to expertise and high-level laboratory capabilities. Our ties with industry are strengthened through a number of different programs, including TAP, and our senior projects, which are always industrially-based and sponsored. Many opportunities exist for industry to interact with our expert capabilities at levels ranging from answering relatively simple questions, through extensive research projects.

Featured Partnerships

The School of Materials Engineering has a variety of options for partnering with industrials and private donors to investigate, discover, and engineer solutions to the problems facing the state, nation and world.  Interaction with industry and research laboratories provides a "real world" context for our students, provides them with the skills needed to excel upon graduation, and helps them determine their future career paths.  These partnerships are different than the traditional scholarship or fellowship support many of our donors are familiar with, the key to the partnerships is the interaction between students and donors.
