Faculty and Staff Awards

The EEE faculty and staff are being recognized for their outstanding work. Tammi Thayer was a finalist or the College of Engineering Customer Service Award for Administrative Professionals, Dr. Nina Robinson received Purdue’s Fall 2014 Bravo Award, and Dr. Loring (Larry) Nies received the 2015 Excellence in Environmental Engineering Education Award.

Tammi Thayer, Associate Director of Advising, was one of three finalists for the College of Engineering Customer Service Award for Administrative Professionals. The purpose of this award is to recognize, encourage, and promote outstanding customer service within the College of Engineering. Along with other duties, Tammi is responsible for the academic guidance of EEE students, and is involved at several other levels in EEE. Dr. Nina Robinson, EEE’s Administrative Director, was the recipient of Purdue’s Fall 2014 Bravo Award. The Bravo Award seeks to highlight the excellence found across all areas and job functions at Purdue University by recognizing extraordinary achievements on every scale. Recognizing employee accomplishments that help Purdue move the world forward is vital to the University's mission and the morale of its faculty and staff.

 

 

 

Loring (Larry) Nies, Professor of Environmental and Ecological Engineering and Civil Engineering, received the 2015 Excellence in Environmental Engineering Education Award. The award is presented by the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists (AAEES) for significantly contributing to the profession in the area of educating practitioners. Nies, who has been at Purdue since 1993, was inducted into the Purdue Book of Great Teachers in 2013. The award was presented in April at the AAEES Excellence in Environmental Engineering and Science™ (E3S) Awards Luncheon and Technical Conference in Washington, D.C.
