Using Enigmail with Thunderbird

For Windows PCs running GPG4Win, Thunderbird and Enigmail, Download & install GPG4Win from http://gpg4win.org/download.html - only GnuPG needs to be installed, everything else is optional.

Then, merge the following RegKey:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\GNU]

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\GNU\GnuPG]
"HomeDir"="U:\\.gnupg"
 

Make sure that the --homedir option is not used in the Enigmail>Preferences>Advanced (under "additional parameters")
Also, note that the \ in the HomeDir needs to be escaped with an additional \ if you wish to merge the reg key. This is, of course, not needed when you manually create the regkey inside regedit.

That should do it!
