ECE students win student design competitions awards at IEEE IMS 2014

Two groups of ECE students won awards in student design competitions organized in the IEEE International Microwave Symposium (IMS) 2014. This is the premier conference in the RF/Microwave research area and is attended by over 10,000 researchers and industry exhibitors every year.
Two groups of Purdue students have won awards in student design competitions organized in the IEEE International Microwave Symposium (IMS) 2014. This is the premier conference in the RF/Microwave research area and is attended by over 10,000 researchers and industry exhibitors every year. The following students were recognized:
 
1. Mark Hickle and Jin Li: 1st place award in the RF MEMS filter student design competition. Mark Hickle is a PhD candidate advised by Professor Peroulis. Jin Li is a PhD student at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China and is a visiting scholar with Professor Peroulis.
 
2. Austin Wirth, Mark Harlan, Katherine Maul: 3rd place award in the Microwave App student design competition. All students are undergraduate ECE students and were advised by Dr. Sean Scott who also had a big contribution for creating the original idea of this competition entry.
