PhD Student James Stewart wins Black Engineer of the Year Award

James Stewart, a PhD student in Purdue University’s School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has been selected for the Black Engineer of the Year Award (BEYA) as a Modern Day Technology Leader. The award honors African Americans who have established themselves as the next generation of leaders in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).

Prof. Xiaokang Qiu receives NSF CAREER Award

Xiaokang Qiu, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering, has received an NSF CAREER award for a project entitled “Democratizing Algorithmic Program Synthesis.” CAREER awards are among the National Science Foundation’s most prestigious awards. They are given through the Faculty Early Career Development Program to recognize untenured faculty members as teacher-scholars.
