Jeff Gordon currently serves as operating partner at Providence. Prior to joining Providence as an operating partner in 2020, Mr. Gordon held the position of CEO in Vector Solutions, a former Providence portfolio company. Mr. Gordon is the chairman of the Vector Solutions board of directors.
As CEO of Vector Solutions, Jeff Gordon was responsible for defining and executing the company’s strategy for growth in both revenue and valuation. After nearly tripling the size of the business in fewer than three years, Mr. Gordon led the sale of Vector to Golden Gate Capital, creating a successful exit for Providence in 2018.
Prior to Vector Solutions, Mr. Gordon served as president and chief executive officer of Syniverse Technologies and served on the board of directors. During his tenure at Syniverse, he oversaw significant growth of the company that served more than 1500 mobile operators and enterprises across 200 countries. Mr. Gordon was part of the leadership team that nearly doubled the revenues in the business and led the sale of the company to the Carlyle Group in 2011. Previously, Mr. Gordon served in executive positions at Convergys Corporation, Bell Atlantic (now Verizon) and IBM. Gordon was a key member of the launch team for PCS PrimeCo, which became an integral part of today’s Verizon Wireless.
Mr. Gordon received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and graduated cum laude from Purdue University’s school of electrical engineering honors program. He has previously been ranked as one of the most influential leaders in the global mobile industry. He served on the executive committee of the Cellular Telephone Industry Association board of directors, as well as the executive committee, governance committee and chaired the finance committee of the Children’s Home Society of Florida, the largest non-profit for children in the state. Mr. Gordon is the co-author of seven U.S. patents covering a wide range of topics concerning real-time communications systems architecture. He currently serves on the advisory board of Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business’ Center on Leadership and Ethics and the advisory board of Purdue University’s School of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
