Academic Assistance

The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering offers help rooms for three sophomore level ECE courses, a project lab, and a tutoring program. More information about these resources can be found below.

ECE Help Rooms

The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering offers free Help Rooms for ECE 20001 and ECE 20002. Students should ask their TA or instructor for additional information on these resources.

ECE Tutoring Program

All ECE students and students in other majors taking ECE courses can receive free tutoring from ECE students on courses including ECE 20001, 20002, 20007, 20875, 26400, 36800, 30100, 30200, 36900, 33700, and 43700, as well as academic support in the math and physics concepts required to be successful in their ECE courses.

Tutoring sessions are handled through BoilerConnect, and are held either in-person or virtually.  In-person sessions are not allowed to take place in a private setting with only the student and tutor, but must be held in the ECE Tutor Center or in a public setting.  If a tutor is needed for an ECE course not on the list or no availability can be found for a listed course, please email Jamie Seadeek (jseadeek@purdue.edu) and we will work on adding more tutors as the need arises.

Virtual Study Tables

This is an opportunity to join other students in your classes to get help with topics or homework (not to be confused as tutoring), or just stop in for some social interaction when you’re tired of sitting quietly along in your room. For more one-on-one help, please utilize the ECE Tutor Program by going onto BoilerConnect and scheduling a time.

Current virtual study table dates, times, and courses can be found on our events page.

ECE Electronics Shop

If you're working on an ECE project, visit the ECE Electronics Shop in POTR 054. There are free components available and friendly staff on hand to help you with your work. It's open Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
