ECE 69500 – RF Design: Passive and Active Components

Lecture Hours:

Credits: 1

Area of Specialization: Fields and Optics (FO)

Requisites: Primer on RF Design

Catalog Description:
Following the course Primer on RF Design, this class focuses on passive and active components. We use the techniques from the previous course to design advanced RF devices including couplers, filters, and amplifiers. Current research topics are discussed as appropriate.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Describe and articulate the basic design principles of RF passive and active components.
  2. Design RF couplers, filters, and amplifiers.
  3. Use tools and analysis techniques to support the design of RF filters and amplifiers.
