Indianapolis Location Students
Purdue Indianapolis location students admitted to the MSECE professional master’s program (PMP/INVT) starting Fall 2025 will follow the Implementation track.
Ideas to Innovation Track (Project Track)
This track is available to students only at the West Lafayette location. Basic curriculum requirements for this track are shown below; more information is available Full curriculum requirements, project track.

- Math: One math course (3 credits)

ECE coursework: Minimum of 15 credit hours of ECE coursework; includes one ECE core course and the following:
- ECE 69500, Ideas to Innovation I (3 credits)
- ECE 69500, Ideas to Innovation II (3 credits)
- ECE 69500, Communication for Engineering Leaders (1 credit)

2-3 credits of coursework from the following list:
- ECE 69000, Ideation (2 credits)
- ECE 59500, Intellectual Property Generation and Management (3 credits)
- IE 59000: Project Management (3 credits)
- IE 54500: Engineering Economic Analysis (3 credits)
- IE 54600: Economic Decisions in Engineering (3 credits)
- SYS 50000: Perspectives on Systems (3 credits)

Implementation Track

Curriculum requirements:

- Math: Two math courses (6 credits)
- ECE coursework: Minimum of 15 credit hours of ECE coursework; includes two ECE core courses and the following:
- Implementation/professional development coursework: Minimum of 9 credits from an approved list of courses; see this page
- Allowed ECE 69600 (Advanced EE Projects) or ECE 69700 (Directed Reading EE) credit hours: Up to 3
- ECE 69400, ECE Seminar (0 credits)
Note: For the implementation track, courses counted as satisfying the requirements under the various headings (Math, ECE, and implementation/professional development) cannot be double counted.
