Computer Science Curriculum Developer
Assistant Professor of Computer Science
Vaughn College seeks applicants for a full-time tenure track faculty position in the Department of Engineering. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in the design and implantation of a BS in Computer Science program. Vaughn seeks a candidate who can assist the department with the development and implementation process of curriculum and courses in a BS in Computer Science. Candidates must possess a broad professional background in order to support and expand a wide variety of departmental foundation courses and sub-disciplinary elective offerings in both computer science and computer engineering.
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Develop courses in computer science, software design, networking/security systems, data structure & algorithms, and data analytics.
- Assist the HSI-STEM Project Director and STEM Pathways Advisor with student monitoring and work with the external evaluator to collect student data of program evaluation.
- Teach undergraduate courses, lecture and laboratory, in computer science and computer engineering.
- Advise students and serve on department/college committees
- Participate in scholarly activities that include working with students in presenting and publishing papers related to Computer science
- Design courses that support the student learning outcomes outlined by the department.
- Assess student performance throughout the course and program using the Vaughn College faculty course assessment model.
Besides assisting the engineering departments with development and implementation process of the computer science program, the successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate courses, lecture and laboratories, in computer science and computer engineering programs. Teaching experience and a knowledge of both assessment of student outcomes and learning communities is preferred.
Qualifications: A PhD in computer science or appropriate field is preferred. Experience and knowledge of computer networks, system security, software design, data analytics, machine learning, and cybersecurity is highly desirable. Industrial experience and experience in curriculum design and development are also beneficial.
