Fall 2021: Grad Professional Development Calendar
 
I’m happy to share with you the Graduate School’s Fall 2021 Professional Development calendar! This semester, we have 130+ free professional development workshops available to graduate students, covering such topics as industry and academic career prep, communication, wellness, teaching, research and ethics, grantsmanship, diversity, and more! Students can register for these workshops directly through the attached PDF by clicking on the date next to their workshop of choice, or they can visit here
 
Additionally, this fall break, we will be hosting an Industry Career Conference, featuring the Cheeky Scientist, Purdue’s Burton Center for Entrepreneurship, and the Boiler Financial Track. 
 
The Cheeky Scientist will discuss: The Modern Job Search: Using online profiles to maximize the effectiveness of the job-seeking/ transition process (including a workshop on the “Online Elevator Pitch”) & Resumes & Transferable Skills: How to Tailor Your Resume for Industry Jobs (including a workshop on “Writing a Professional Summary”). 
 
Purdue’s Burton Center for Entrepreneurship will offer a workshop on “Entrepreneurship as a Career Path,” and Boiler Financial Track will discuss “Comparing Job Offers.” Finally, all attendees are invited to get a free professional headshot while at the event! Event admission is free of charge. Lunch will be provided, and attendees will be entered to win prizes, including 15 free, complimentary 1-year memberships to the Cheeky Scientist Association, 30 copies of the Cheeky Scientist’s most recent book, The Science of Intelligent Achievement, and Purdue sporting event tickets. Registration is limited to 300, so interested students should register ASAP!
