Why I chose Purdue?
I was initially interested in Purdue because of the BME program and the first year honors engineering program. After touring the campus and meeting my future professors, I got the sense of being home and new that Purdue was the right choice for me. .
Why I chose Engineering and BME?
I chose to major in engineering because I always enjoyed science and math and solving problems. After seeing some of my first designs come to life I was hooked on engineering. I chose BME specifically because I had always been interested in how injuries happen and are fixed after seeing so many of them happen throughout my sports career in high school.
Extra-curricular activities:
In my time at Purdue I have been involved in the Purdue Women’s Club Volleyball team, the Purdue Women’s Fast Pitch Softball Club, Boiler Gold Rush (BGR) as a Team Leader, and my sorority Phi Sigma Rho as the Vice President of Finance. ce a Girl to Engineering Day 2012, Boiler Gold Rush Team Leader, Intramural volleyball
Engineering-related experience/CO-OP/Intern/Research:
I completed a 3-term development engineering co-op with Biomet Inc. in their sports medicine department.
Post-graduation plans:
After graduation I plan to work in the orthopedics/biomechanics industry as a development engineer.
