Why I chose Purdue?
Given my family’s roots in Big Ten colleges, I intended to keep my college experience in the Midwest. Various Purdue Women in Engineering events granted me exposure to the curriculum and culture, allowing me to see firsthand how happy the Purdue student body was. Even on the gloomiest of days, the campus never fails to remind me why I chose Purdue.

Why I chose Engineering and BME?
BME integrates the anatomical/physiological human biology with the problem solving components of engineering. Beyond the exciting rigor that lies within the BME curriculum is an indispensable sense of community that has become my core friend group and a crucial support network. The altruistic nature of the subject itself translates into the character of the engineers that study BME, creating a collaborative environment that is filled with inspiration and innovation.

Extra-curricular activities:
BME Ambassadors, International Genetic Engineering of Machines team, Purdue Buddhist Society, Intramural Volleyball, Intramural Soccer

Engineering-related experience/CO-OP/Intern/Research:
• GE Healthcare – Software Intern: Software development for newest PET/CT scanner to evaluate and resolve DICOM conformance discrepancies
• Roche Diagnostics – Design Verification Intern: Software development for autonomous robot to test linear abrasion robustness of blood-glucose meters
• Purdue University – Undergraduate research in Genetic Engineering: Researched application of a statistical method towards synthetic biology to enhance lab efficiency

Post-graduation plans:
I intend to work for GE Healthcare, focusing specifically on the integration of image quality algorithms into medical imaging scanner software.
