Why I chose Purdue?
Every time I visited Purdue I interacted with the nicest people. I knew that if I came here I would be surrounded by people who genuinely care about others, which was important to me.
Why I chose Engineering and BME?
I choose engineering because I love problem solving and wanted to use that to impact other people lives. I have also always had a strong interest in medicine. I found that BME would allow for me to combine medicine and problem solving in a way that would make a difference in a lot of lives.
Extra-curricular activities:
Timmy Global Health
Purdue Intramural Sports
Purdue Space Day
Engineering-related experience/CO-OP/Intern/Research:
This summer I worked on a programming by demonstration project in the Collaborative Robotics Lab at Purdue. I analyzed the motions that occur when a human teaches a task in order to teach Baxter the Research Robot basic industrial tasks.
Post-graduation plans:
I’m planning on spending a year or two participating in an international service program teaching math or science. After that I am hoping to go to medical school.
