This financial award is granted based on academic merit with preference given to graduate students studying in the broad area of hybrid cardiovascular devices. In addition, students engaged in research related to implantable biomaterials design, drug-delivery systems and biochemical sensors.

Linnes received a patent for a device that will improve glucose monitoring

Jacqueline Linnes received a patent on a new device that selectively collects the liquid condensation of an exhaled breath and the method of using this device. This novel device is portable and can collect and condense reproducible volumes of exhaled breath in about 10 minutes using a unique temperature-based algorithm--improving glucose monitoring for hundreds of patients.

Jen Hatch has paper chosen to represent DEI efforts at conference

Congratulations to Jen Hatch, a lecturer with the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering, Purdue University in Indianapolis. Her paper was chosen to represent the Biomedical Engineering Division (BED) at the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Annual Conference. Her paper exemplified the best part of diversity, equity and inclusion efforts by members of the Biomedical Division.
