Four Weldon Students won awards at the Purdue University Undergraduate Research and Poster Symposium.

Thomas M. Talavage, a professor of biomedical engineering and electrical and computer engineering, has been selected to be part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Concussion Task Force.

Alex Kokini, a Weldon junior, has been selected to receive this year's Bruce Helfert Memorial Award.

Junjie Li has been selected as the recipient of an NIH fellowship through the Interdisciplinary Cancer Prevention Research Internship Program.

Four BME students have been selected to receive Joe Bourland Travel Grants: Aaron Kosinski, Rui Li, Yan Li, and Pu Wang.

Weldon students won the undergraduate division at the Purdue University Elevator Pitch Competition on April 5. Their concept, called Safe Pace, is a device that would help surgeons check a pacemaker implant during surgery to determine whether it was mechanically stable.

Juniors Alex Kokini and Kyle Pendergast were two of only forty upcoming Purdue seniors to be selected as members of the Purdue Mortar Board Chapter.

Congratulations to Kyle Pendergast, a junior in the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering. Pendergast was elected president of the Purdue student government for the 2013-3014 academic year.
