Alumna Rachel Price Bell to be inducted into the CoSIDA Academic All-America Hall of Fame

Alumna Rachel Price Bell, (PhD, 2004), has been named a 2017 inductee of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America Hall of Fame®. The CoSIDA Academic All-America Hall of Fame recognizes former Academic All-Americas who received a college degree at least 10 years ago, have achieved lifetime success in their professional careers, and are committed to philanthropic causes.

Chmielewski selected for Purdue's 2017 Herbert Newby McCoy Award

Jean A. Chmielewski, the Alice Watson Kramer Distinguished Professor of Chemistry and professor of biomedical engineering, has been chosen as the 2017 Herbert Newby McCoy Award recipient. One of Purdue University's top three research honors, the McCoy Award is the most prestigious award the university bestows in the natural sciences.

Shelley Claridge, assistant professor of chemistry and biomedical engineering, has received a Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Award from the National Science Foundation. CAREER Awards are considered one of the most prestigious for promising researchers in science and engineering.

Bahar Dhowan receives Martin C. Jischke Outstanding International Student of the Year Award

The 2017 Martin C. Jischke Outstanding International Student of the Year Award has been presented to Bahar Dhowan, a senior in the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering. This award was established by president emeritus Martin C. Jischke to honor an international Purdue student who has helped the University welcome and connect people of all cultures. Honorees also must demonstrate excellence in scholarship, leadership, character and service.
