Kinzer-Ursem selected to participate in NAE's Frontiers of Engineering Education Symposium
Kinzer-Ursem conducts research centered on utilizing protein engineering techniques in conjunction with mathematical models to study protein signaling in the context of larger signaling networks. She also teaches courses on biomolecular engineering and biotransport laboratory skills.
Attendees of the FOEE symposium were nominated by NAE members or deans and chosen from a highly competitive pool of applicants. Kinzer-Ursem was selected with two other Purdue University faculty members: Bryan Boudouris of aeronautics and astronautics, and Karen Marais of ecological engineering. The three Purdue faculty will be attending this symposium in Irvine, California, Oct. 25-28.
Through meeting with faculty members from other institutions that are developing and implementing innovative educational approaches in a variety of engineering disciplines, these Purdue faculty hope to gain insight into different learning modalities, pedagogy, and strategies that can enhance the educational experience for Purdue engineering students.
