Carla is the Weldon School's Account Assistant, focused on account management for BME professors.  During the past 9 months, the office has had multiple vacant positions and extended leave of absences.  The positions vacated handled the operational functions of the Business Office, including payroll, travel, and purchasing.  With Carla’s strong work ethic, the Business Office was still able to accomplish essential operational activities.

The Business Office's mission is to provide timely, accurate information, while offering thoughtful guidance and delivering quality service.  Carla has stepped up to the challenge time and again of meeting those expectations.  She consistently manages to go above and beyond her own job duties and help with payroll, purchasing, and travel.  During this critical time, Carla has remained the constant for our customers.  In addition to completing core business office tasks, she also helped improve the Ariba order process, resulting in the business office having a paperless process for orders.  She has extensive knowledge that customers seek out to help with problems.  She is always willing to take on new projects beyond her job and fully execute the project.  For example, a faculty member left the University and Carla has been diligently working with multiple Universities to make sure the equipment was properly transferred.  She not only goes out of her way to help customers, but has helped training new staff in the office.  With her training and knowledge, the Weldon School is building a strong team to support the needs of our customers.  Carla is the glue that holds the Business Office together. This office could have not operated so well without her dedication and hard work.
