Honorary Fellow status is bestowed on select individuals who demonstrate a national or international reputation for exceptional achievement or accomplishments within a specific field of interest in biomedical engineering or contributing to advancements in biomedical engineering.

Dr. Geddes' citation reads "For his many contributions to biomedical instrumentation and to the field of cardiac pacing and defibrillation." This is the inaugural class of Fellows for BMES.
