Purdue BME Showcased on "Inside INdiana Business"

Event Date: September 25, 2003

George Wodicka, Head of Purdue's Department of Biomedical Engineering, was interviewed for "Inside INdiana Business with Gerry Dick," which first aired on September 14, 2003. In the interview, Wodicka announced that Purdue University will break ground on its new Biomedical Engineering Building on September 26th, and described what this will mean for the future of engineering in Indiana.

Currently, 1 out of 9 jobs in the state of Indiana directly relate to the life sciences. As a direct result of recent legislative support, Purdue is positioned to develop and build a truly integrative facility that will allow the interaction of faculty, students, staff, and industrial partners that will result in the direct transfer of technologies into clinical practice. Our graduates will be uniquely qualified to fill the engineering needs of Indiana's medical device industries.
