New and Current Lab Users
For the safety of yourself and others and for research productivity, there are many lab policies and procedures in place. It is important to follow all rules and obey any posted sign instructions. If you have any questions, consult the faculty or staff point of contact for the equipment or lab in question. DIAL 911 if there is ever an emergency.
Training and lab access requests are now all handled electronically. Certain labs require faculty signatures to gain access. This is to ensure all users have access to only rooms they are qualified for and have need to use and help prevent potential safety concerns. Card access only applies to the cardholder; DO NOT pass around cards or allow unauthorized users into any lab. If you need access to labs or equipment, go through the proper channels.
Some labs and equipment require 'listserv' mailing list subscription. They are used to rapidly communicate with a user base in the case of an emergency, maintenance, policy updates, and for some machines, regular communication between users.
'Coral' is an electronic scheduling and billing software. It is required for use of any machine on a Coral interlock system (typcially any machine on a recharge center). Coral is run by ECN. All account requests run through them and must be initiated by a faculty advisor--students are not allowed to request Coral accounts/modifications.
If you experience any issues logging in with your Purdue career account, contact ECN through the link below.
