Event Date: April 19, 2023
Congratulations to MSE Ph.D. student, Jasmyne Emerson, who has received the University Nuclear Leadership Program (UNLP) fellowships from the Department of Energy, Office of Nuclear Energy (DOE-NE)! Jasmyne is advised by Professor Maria Okuniewski. Her current research involves characterizing irradiated reactor pressure vessel (RPV) steels that have been electron beam welded to enable the investigation of the re-regulation of RPV welds.  Jasmyne is one of 32 recipients across the country of the UNLP fellowship. The fellowship includes three years of funding to cover graduate studies and research. The fellowship also includes funding for an internship at a DOE national laboratory or other approved research facility to strengthen the ties between students and DOE's energy research programs.
