Congratulations to PhD candidate, Thomas Mann, who has successfully completed his PhD! Under the advisement of Professor Michael Titus, Mann’s research focused on determining the primary deformation mechanisms of a novel intermetallic in Haynes 244 Nickel superalloy. His work combined theoretical computational modeling and experimental analysis of high temperature deformed samples to determine that deformation twinning was the primary mechanism, and he has accepted a research engineer position with Haynes International.
