Dr. Nicholas Richter has successfully completed his PhD under the advisement of Professor Xinghang Zhang. His research focused on exploring formation mechanisms and mechanical properties of nanotwinned Al-Zr alloy thin films by utilizing a combination of magnetron sputtering, electron microscopy and in-situ micromechanical testing to fully assess the resulting twin structures. Dr. Richter has accepted a position as a research engineer at NSWC Crane.
