Prof. Xinghang Zhang, currently a Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Texas A&M, will be joining the School of Materials Engineering in Fall 2016.  After his PhD in 2001 from North Carolina State, he was a director-funded post-doc fellow at Los Alamos National Lab until joining TAMU in 2005.  Prof. Zhang's research interests are in nanostructured metallic systems (thin films and bulk); he couples materials processing with characterization and testing on a wide range of nanostructured metals in both ambient and harsh environments.
