Innovation for International Development Exposition
Each year, the Shah Family Global Innovation Lab hosts the Innovation for International Development (I2D) Exposition at Purdue University. This event highlights Purdue's incredible engineering innovations focused on addressing the Sustainable Development Goals. Additionally, the expo offers a chance for students, faculty, and staff to connect with international development professionals and partner organizations. We have previously invited representatives from USAID, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Land O’Lakes, Inc., Catholic Relief Services, Save the Children, Global Good, Mercy Corps, and more.

The 2nd Annual I2D Lab Exposition, hosted on Friday, April 1st, 2016, hosted invited speakers - including Michael Deal and Noha El-Ghobashy - from USAID, Catholic Relief Services, and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, global development research and student projects on display, and an announcement of seed grant winners. The Expo focused on how engineers and engineering can support achievement of the United Nation's Sustainable Development goals. Panels were also hosted to investigate the role of engineering innovation in human health and food security.

2015 I2D Exposition Highlights
In celebration of the accomplishments Purdue engineering students and faculty have made in tackling international development challenges and to inspire greater achievements in this field, the I2D Lab Exposition was hosted on Friday, March 27, 2015. Four invited speakers, including Calestous Juma, Alexis Bonnell, Charlene McKoin, and Beth Collins which represented a spectrum of international development actors rounded out the afternoon. Representatives from Dow AgroSciences, Millennium Water Alliance, AMPATH, and Maji Safi International were also in attendance. Twenty five posters of graduate research and student R&D projects in international development on display during the poster session. The categories covered by those posters included shelter & construction, water & sanitation, global health, education, agricultural mechanization, and energy.
