Gantt Charts
A Gantt Chart is a tool for establishing and monitoring the timeline for a project. The most complete method for maintaining Gantt charts are to use Microsoft Project. MS Project is widely available on campus computers, including all of the EPICS computer lab PCs.
The project manager should maintain Gantt charts for each project. The team's progress should be benchmarked against the Gantt chart each week. When project timelines slip, the project manager should press the team for creative solutions to regain the lost time. It is normal for Gantt Charts to be somewhat vague when a project begins and to become more specific as the project progresses.
