Technical Electives

Technical Electives are broadly defined as any course in a technical field, typically from the Colleges of Engineering, Agriculture, Science, Polytechnic Institute or School of Management. AGEC from Agriculture and ECON from Management are excluded as these count as General Education Electives. Click here to view Subject Codes by College and Department.  It is recommended that a student choose additional EEE Selectives to satisfy this requirement, or take prerequisite courses to prepare for advanced EEE Selectives that the student is interested in.  Beyond the recommendation to meet the Technical Elective requirement with courses from the EEE Selectives list, should a student instead want more breadth or exposure to varied topics, the list links below identify some courses that are approved Technical Electives.  Remedial courses and most seminars are not allowed.

Choose the appropriate link below based on your assigned catalog term.

A student’s catalog term is typically the semester you started at Purdue, and determines the criteria that applies to you. Students can find their catalog term at the top of their MyPurduePlan below the degree progress bar.

Go to EEE Plans of Study, then click the Supplemental Info link for Technical Electives for appropriate catalog term.
