EEE Selectives Plan of Study Approval Policy

All Plans of Study, including a student's choice of EEE Selectives and Technical Electives, are ultimately subject to approval by the EEE Academics Committee.  The EEE curricular guidelines were designed to maximize flexibility so individualized student-centered Plans of Study can be crafted.  Proposed Plans of Study without sufficient rigor and academic integrity worthy of earning a BSEEE will not be permitted.

For routine day to day administration of the EEE undergraduate program the Chair of the Academics Committee and the Associate Director of Advising act on behalf of the Academics Committee. In the event that a student’s proposed Selectives Plan of Study is flagged for lack of rigor and academic integrity the student and their EEE mentor will be contacted to request that the Selectives Plan of Study be revised.  Specific concerns will be identified.  The student and EEE mentor may choose to modify the Selectives Plan of Study or the student may request that the flagged Plan of Study be reviewed by the full Academics Committee.  Any EEE faculty, but preferably the student’s faculty mentor, may serve as an Advocate for the flagged Plan of Study, should they choose to do so.  During the Academics Committee review the Advocate will be permitted to vote.  The Academics Committee Chair who flagged the Plan of Study will be recused.
