Obtaining a printed copy of error messages
Enabling the debug printout is another way of getting information, but
many times there is so much data that the information you want can
easily get lost.
FORTRAN allows you to redirect what would normally go to the screen to a file. For example:
Using C-Shell:
file.f >& temp.outUsing Bourne or Korn Shell:
file.f 2> temp.outThis is assuming you were using xxx as in the above example. This will run the program file.f and send the output to the file temp.out.
