Electromechanical Motion Devices is meant to serve as an introductory text in electromechanical motion devices. It distinguishes itself by being perhaps the only truly straightforward but mathematically rigorous undergraduate text available. Its insightful presentation leads the student from a review of basic magnetics to a fundamental discussion of the energy conversion process. The text then proceeds to use these concepts to explain the operation and modeling of stepper motors, brushless dc motors, dc machines, and induction machines. It presents this with a focus on a circuit rather than field based approach to devices. It provides excellent preparation for more advanced study.
