Five Purdue ECE students named Dean's Leadership Scholars
Five students in Purdue University’s Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering have been selected as Dean’s Leadership Scholars for the 2026-27 academic year, recognizing their academic achievement, leadership and contributions to the student experience.
Established in 2019, this College of Engineering program gives undergraduate students an opportunity to serve as trusted advisers to the dean. Scholars provide student perspectives on strategic initiatives that help shape the future of the college and improve the student experience.
The newest ECE scholars are Arin Bhave, Anna Dalton, Leo Malachowski, Alex Morales and Alexander Repikov.
Arin Bhave, a sophomore in electrical engineering, represents the John Martinson Honors College as a senator in Purdue Student Government. In that role, he helps develop legislation, gathers student feedback and facilitates conversations between student organizations and university leadership.
Bhave also conducts virtual reality research in the Purdue Magnetics Laboratory, where he develops immersive educational tools and has presented his research at campus conferences.
Anna Dalton, a junior in electrical and computer engineering, is president and managing director of Purdue Solutions Consulting, where she leads the organization’s executive board, oversees consulting teams and works with client partners.
Dalton also represents Purdue Engineering as a Purdue Student Engineering Foundation tour guide and a Semiconductors@Purdue student ambassador. Through EPICS, she served as design lead for a multidisciplinary team developing an accessible instrument tuner for K-12 students with visual impairments.
Leo Malachowski, a senior in electrical and computer engineering, serves as president of ECE Ambassadors. He leads a student team that connects students with faculty, school leadership and industry partners while supporting prospective students, First-Year Engineering students and current ECE students.
Malachowski also has led community-engaged research with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Lafayette and the City of Lafayette, using resident feedback to help identify quality-of-life improvements. He also serves as crew chief for the First Street Towers Grand Prix team, where he mentors new members and helps advance the team’s technical capabilities.
Alex Morales, a junior in computer engineering, serves as president of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Student Society, overseeing the organization’s operations and leading initiatives that connect students with faculty, alumni and industry. He also serves on the Purdue Engineering Presidents’ Council and previously represented students as a Purdue Student Government senator.
As an ECE undergraduate teaching assistant, Morales mentors students in laboratory courses. He also has served as an EPICS project manager, helping lead engineering projects focused on community needs.
Alexander Repikov, a senior in electrical engineering, has held several leadership roles with Purdue Lunabotics, including software lead, fabrication operations lead, and power and hardware lead. He helped expand the team’s software group, created onboarding resources for new members and contributed to the team earning first place in the Autonomy Award at the NASA Lunabotics Competition.
Repikov also has served as president of the Parker Halls Parliament and president of the Bechtel Innovation and Design Center student organization. As electronics lab supervisor at the BIDC, he oversees lab operations, trains students and employees, and helps expand resources available to student makers.
