Dan Jiao

Dan Jiao, Synopsys Professor in Purdue University’s Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has been selected as a Cornell University AI for Sustainability Visiting Professor.

Through the Cornell AI for Sustainability Initiative, or AI4S, Jiao will collaborate with Cornell researchers in the area of AI for Sustainable Semiconductors, exploring how artificial intelligence can contribute to more sustainable technologies and approaches in semiconductor research.

Cornell’s AI4S Visiting Professorship Program brings faculty scholars from around the world to the university to collaborate on research at the intersection of artificial intelligence and sustainability. Visiting professors participate in short visits, seminars, guest lectures, research discussions and other collaborative activities. The appointment typically spans two calendar years, with visits spread across that period.

The broader Cornell AI for Sustainability Initiative focuses on using AI to address sustainability challenges in areas ranging from sustainable materials discovery to energy, food and climate systems.

The visiting professorship will give Jiao opportunities to share her expertise while developing research connections between Purdue and Cornell in an emerging area that combines AI, semiconductor technology and sustainability.
