The Purdue ECE undergrad programs held the same spots as last year.

Purdue University’s Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering continues to rank among the nation’s best, with both of its undergraduate programs earning top 10 spots in the 2027 U.S. News & World Report Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs rankings.

Purdue computer engineering is ranked No. 9 nationally, while electrical engineering is ranked No. 10. Both programs held their positions from the previous year.

The rankings place Purdue ECE among eight Purdue Engineering specialties ranked in the nation’s top 10.

Purdue Engineering also set a college record with five undergraduate programs earning top five specialty rankings. Agricultural and biological engineering and industrial engineering each ranked No. 2, aeronautical and astronautical engineering ranked No. 3, and civil engineering and mechanical engineering each ranked No. 4.

“These latest U.S. News undergraduate rankings reflect the continuously advancing affordable excellence at scale that we offer to prepare next-generation engineers for rewarding, high-impact careers,” said Mark Lundstrom, the John A. Edwardson Dean of Purdue’s College of Engineering. “We thank our faculty, staff, students, alumni, and industry partners for contributing to our exceptional stature.”

The College of Engineering’s undergraduate program ranked No. 8 overall for the fourth consecutive year and No. 5 among public institutions for the 25th straight year.

U.S. News & World Report’s Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs specialty rankings are based on assessments from deans and senior faculty at peer institutions.
