Purdue's Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering Claims No. 1 Spot in U.S. News Online Rankings

The Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University has been ranked No. 1 in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings for online master’s programs. Rising from No. 3 in 2024, this top distinction underscores Purdue’s commitment to providing world-class engineering education in a flexible online format.
In total, four of Purdue’s online master’s degrees in engineering claimed the No. 1 position: electrical engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, and engineering management. Additionally, Purdue’s online master’s program in civil engineering ranked No. 2. These achievements contributed to Purdue’s full suite of online master’s programs in engineering climbing to No. 2 nationally, tying with the University of Illinois and trailing only the University of California, Los Angeles.
“Purdue engineering is unparalleled in delivering online education to benefit students, industry, and society,” said Arvind Raman, the John A. Edwardson Dean of the College of Engineering. “With 13 years of overall excellence and six years of preeminence in specialty rankings, the new rankings underscore our remarkable success in expanding opportunities for students across disciplines, geographic regions, and life stages as we near our goal of becoming the nation’s largest producer of engineering talent.”
Purdue also ranked No. 5 in online engineering master’s programs for veterans, the same as last year.
