ECE grad students recognized for outstanding teaching, research, service
The Purdue College of Engineering recognized 72 graduate students for excellence in research, service, or teaching at its annual awards luncheon.
Eight ECE graduate students were recipients of the 2019 Magoon Excellence in Teaching Award. The honor recognizes outstanding teaching assistants in memory of Estus H. and Vashti L. Magoon who influenced the lives of many engineering educators early in their careers through this award. The selection is made by both faculty and students to recognize those students who were exemplary in their work as teaching assistants.

In addition to the Magoon Awards, ECE graduate student Dennis Ogbe was chosen to receive the 2019 Outstanding Service Scholarship. The scholarship is presented to engineering graduate students who have provided outstanding service to the graduate student community, their School, the College, and/or the University. The recipients are chosen by a committee of faculty and students from their School. Ogbe is a student of Prof. Chih-Chun Wang and Prof. David Love.
Ahmedullah Aziz and Krishnakali Chaudhuri were recipients of the 2019 Award for Outstanding Research. This award goes to PhD students who have demonstrated excellence and leadership in research through publications, participation in professional organizations, and willingness to mentor others. Students are nominated by faculty within their school. Aziz is a student of Prof. Sumeet Gupta. Chaudhuri is a student of Prof. Alexandra Boltasseva.
Prof. Shreyas Sundaram was selected as the Outstanding Faculty Mentor of Engineering Graduate Students for ECE. This award is voted on by ECE grad students and recognizes the exceptional mentoring qualities of a member of the faculty.
