Graduate Student Enas Sakr receives Bilsland Dissertation Fellowship Award

PhD Candidate Enas Sakr has received the 2016 Bilsland Dissertation Fellowship Award. It is awarded to outstanding Ph.D. candidates in their final year of doctoral degree completion. The Bilsland Dissertation Fellowship recognizes the student's superior academic abilities and scholarly achievements.

The title of Enas's dissertation is "Spectral and directional selective thermal emitters for thermophotovoltaics". 

Enas’s research aims to efficiently harvest waste heat as electricity using the photovoltaic effect, through tailoring the spectral and directional properties of heat radiation utilizing engineered photonic structures. 

Enas is advised by Professor Peter Bermel.
