ECE Professors Y. Charlie Hu and Samuel Midkiff have received the Google Faculty Research Award.

In the latest round of Google’s prestigious Research Award Program grants announced by Google in July, the ECE Purdue team of Prof. Y. Charlie Hu and Prof. Samuel Midkiff received a grant for their project “Detecting No-Sleep Energy Bugs in Smartphone Apps” which is developing fully automatic techniques to detect energy bugs in smartphone apps which can silently drain a smartphone’s battery, causing severe frustration to the smartphone users. The goal of Google’s Research Award Program is to "support cutting-edge research in Computer Science, Engineering, and related fields" and to “identify and support world-class, full-time faculty pursuing research in areas of mutual interest.”
