Graduate student Haixin Liu has won the Best Student Paper Award, 2nd Place, from the 2011 International Annual Review of Progress in Applied Computational Electromagnetics, a premium conference in Computational Electromagnetics. His paper is titled "Layered H-Matrix Based LU factorization of Significantly Reduced Complexity for Direct Finite-Element-Based Computation of Large-Scale Electromagnetic Problems." Haixin Liu is supervised by Professor Dan Jiao.
