ECE Graduate Student V.R. Supradeepa has received a prestigious IEEE Photonics Society 2010 Graduate Student Fellowship for the year 2010-2011. This is awarded annually to up to 12 students across the globe by the IEEE Photonics Society and consists of a $5000 cash prize and complimentary registration to the IEEE Photonics Society Annual Meeting where the award will be presented. Supradeepa works with Professor Andrew Weiner in the area of ultrafast photonics. His work focuses on methods for manipulating and characterizing high repetition rate optical frequency combs and on new applications enabled by their unique properties.
