Andrew Duly, a second year Electrical and Computer Engineering Ph.D. student, was awarded the 2010 SMART Fellowship.  Andrew, advised by Dr. David Love and Dr. James Krogmeier, has been assigned to the Air Force Research Labs (AFRL) in Dayton, Ohio working on multiple antenna radar systems.  The Science, Mathematics And Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship for Service Program has been established by the Department of Defense (DoD) to support undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines. First awarded in 2005, the program aims to increase the number of civilian scientists and engineers working at DoD laboratories. The program is particularly interested in supporting individuals that demonstrate an aptitude and interest in conducting theoretical and applied research.  This scholarship program provides students with a stipend allowance, full tuition, book allowance, health insurance, and summer internships.
