ECE Undergraduate Program Ranked Among the Best

U.S. News & World Report
U.S. News & World Report has released this year's national rankings of undergraduate programs. Purdue ranks #8 among engineering programs at doctoral-granting universities, tied with Carnegie-Mellon and Cornell.

The discipline rankings are:

  • Industrial/manufacturing engineering - #3; last year #3
  • Agricultural/biological engineering - #3; last year #2
  • Aerospace/aeronautical/astronautical engineering - #4; last year #4
  • Civil engineering - #5; last year #5, tied with MIT
  • Mechanical engineering - #7; last year #7
  • Electrical/electronic/communications engineering - #9; last year #10
  • Computer engineering - #11; last year #11
  • Chemical engineering - #12; last year #13
  • Materials engineering - #12, tied with UC-Santa Barbara; last year #12
  • Environmental - #13, tied with U. Florida; last year #11, tied with Cal Tech and U. Florida
  • Biomedical engineering - #19, tied with Wisconsin-Madison; BME was not in the top 24 last year
  • Nuclear engineering programs are not ranked by USN&WR every year and were not ranked this year or last year
