I chose Purdue for my MSECE because of the world-class education at an affordable price.

What do you like about the program?

It really helps to have the flexibility of being able to watch lectures whenever they fit into your own schedule. As someone with a full-time job, my work and personal schedules can change week-to-week so I greatly appreciate having the ability to do coursework on my own time.

How will earning the MSECE help you reach your career goals?

The MSECE has allowed me to develop additional skills and theoretical knowledge that I can bring to my full-time role. Putting the theory from my MSECE into practice helps reinforce the concepts and deepens my understanding of what I’m learning in the classroom.

What advice would you give to a prospective student interested in the online MSECE?

Take a look at the classes and concentrations offered and see what you’d be interested in. Try to work out the courses you’d take and what you’d want to gain from the degree. Speak to the admissions staff and any current/former students to gain some insight into the inner workings of the program. Consider how the MSECE from Purdue could strengthen your knowledge for your current role or for your desired career path.

Any additional information you’d like to share:

The MSECE is rigorous but worthwhile. The professors are always available to help through discussion boards and online office hours. Having chat rooms and virtual study groups with classmates are a great way to get to know other students and are a great medium for improving your understanding of the material taught in class.
