Continuing to a PhD

Purdue MSECE and MSSWE students who are interested in continuing to a PhD must be admitted to the ECE PhD program. Internal application forms for admission to the PhD program are available from Matt Golden (goldenm@purdue.edu) or Lacey Siefers (lsiefers@purdue.edu) in the ECE Graduate Office and should be filed at the beginning of the final semester of the student’s Master’s program.

Admission requirements:

1. Minimum graduate GPA of 3.3 with the typical successful applicant having a 3.6 or higher GPA.
2. Faculty supervisor for the PhD
3. Funding for PhD - typically through a research assistant position.
