ECE Graduate Student Graduation Information
Because ECE graduate students progress through their coursework at various paces, you will need to let us know when you plan to graduate.
The process is as follows:
-
Candidate survey: Complete the candidate survey that you receive by email from the ECE graduate office to let us know that you plan to graduate at the end of the semester.
- This email is sent around the end of each term for graduation in the next term.
- The deadline to be added to the candidate list without a late fee is the end of the fourth week of the term. If you miss the deadline, contact our office.
-
Candidate registration: Once you complete the candidate survey, the ECE graduate office adds you to the candidate list for graduation and registers you for the appropriate CAND course. Do not register yourself in myPurdue.
- The CAND course is a course flag for graduation, not an actual course.
- Make sure your plan of study is accurate at the start of the term in which you plan to graduate.
- Our office will review your student record to ensure that all graduation requirements have been met. We will notify you if any issues exist.
-
Commencement: You must register for commencement by the deadline if you plan to attend the ceremony.
- You will see a Commencement tab in myPurdue; this tab will appear before the middle of the term.
- During the term you plan to graduate, you will receive important emails from the Registrar’s Commencement Office detailing tasks related to commencement.
