GERI Recruiting Teachers and Course Assistants for Spring Super Saturday 2018

With Fall Super Saturday closing this week, GERI (Gifted Education Resource Institute) is recruiting Teachers and Course Assistants for SPRING SUPER SATURDAY 2018. Please read the description below, consider topics you enjoy and would have fun teaching children about (e.g. agriculture, entomology, robotics, mechanical engineering, youth literature), and send them your class proposals.

The Spring Super Saturday program is designed to meet the needs of academically, creatively, and artistically talented children from age four (pre-kindergarten) through eighth grade. Children will attend six Saturdays of challenging, hands-on activities related to a central theme. The courses are designed to be at least two grade levels above each child’s current school grade level. Each child will explore concepts, ideas, and skills related to the central theme.

• Each class is held over six consecutive Saturdays from January 27 through March 3, 2018.
• All classes are held from 9:00am to 12:00pm.
• Teacher pay will vary depending on experience teaching with GERI and teacher qualifications. Pay ranges from $435 – $535.
• Course Assistant is a volunteer position. Not only you gain experience working with gifted students, but many of our course assistants have gone on to be paid Super Summer staff.
• International students must have passed the OEPT (Oral English Proficiency Test) exam.
• Applications and course proposals are due by Oct 15, 2017.
