Fall 2020 Professional Development Updates!

Fall 2020 Professional Development Updates!

The Graduate School's Professional Development Office is excited to share their Fall 2020 Graduate Professional Development Calendar (and some other great news). So, make sure you read all the way to the bottom!

Fall 2020 Calendar & New Graduate Student Workshops
This semester, they have 100+ graduate student and postdoc workshops scheduled. These are all 100% online, and more are added every day. Graduate faculty and students are encouraged to check out a complete list of offerings.

New graduate students are welcome to attend any of these workshops; however, all new users must create an account in GoSignMeUp prior to registering for their first workshop. Step-by-step instructions for this can be found here.

Virtual 3MT (President’s Council Edition)
We are also excited to share that, this fall, the Graduate School and Purdue’s President’s Council are teaming up to bring the graduate community a virtual 3MT! This is an abbreviated form of our normal competition, featuring only five graduate students. From these five students, members of the President’s Council will vote to select the winner, who  will receive a $2,000 prize!

This is an invaluable (and safe) way to spread the word about the amazing graduate research happening on our campus. This competition also helps students develop critical research communication skills. Faculty support is essential, so please encourage faculty member to discuss this opportunity with high-performing graduate students!

The registration deadline is Friday, September 18th. More information and registration can be found here
