Student Data Collector for nanoHUB
Description:
The student in this position will primarily be working in a collaborative environment to acquire information about university engineering courses that could use nanoHUB tools. Information will be preserved in a spreadsheet or database. This may involve manual compilation, web scraping or crawling. Students will work with a team to verify data and answer questions regarding the collection process. The student in this position will work with experienced staff in the support of data acquisition or simple database development. Through this experience the student will have an opportunity to build skills in multiple areas of computer science, marketing, and develop knowledge of engineering courses in higher education.
Required experience:
● Knowledgeable of engineering courses in materials engineering, electrical engineering or related fields
● Good communication skills
Preferred experience:
● Use of nanoHUB simulation tool in a classroom setting
● Experience with data collection
● Experience with Python or R
Majors / Year: Materials Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other related Engineering majors, Business majors are also encouraged to apply.
Hours:10–20 hours per week, classes permitting.
Pay: $10.00 / hour
Starting: Fall 2019 - We will start interviewing in October 2019.
